On a hillside outside the peaceful village of Rupià, La Pausa is a bright place of rest built from ancient stables long in disuse. The owner, as if by magic, transformed the simple construction into a country house with spacious rooms and large windows offering expansive views of the Baix Empordà, from the bay of Roses to Begur. The house is oriented towards spectacular sunrises worth waking up for, while the rustic design, featuring lime-washed walls, wooden furniture and traditional fabrics, creates a feeling that compels guests to disconnect and relax.
The house features two spacious en-suite bedrooms, and a loft with a possible third bedroom. Enjoy a dip in the pool listening to the bells below, relaxing outside on summer nights, or dine inside with the windows open to the Emporda air and sounds, La Pausa is perfect to unwind for a few days in the Baix Empordà.
Rupia village, definitely one of the prettiest in a region full of gorgeous medieval villages and towns, is a 4-minute walk away, and the beach is a 25-minute drive from the house. The location is also ideal for cycling – many official Tour teams make their home in Girona and the Emporda for the ideal weather, and the varied landscape which affords tough climbs for those who need them, but always a gentle country road back home.
