Now the old railway is a greenway, running the full 42 kms between the coast and Girona.
Emporda to Algarve has been following Mas dels Massís since the property was purchased by its owner 3 years ago, when it was very different from what it is today. Sparing no expenses, the house had been transformed into one of the most impressive large houses we are now proud to offer in Catalunya.
The 7 rooms are all triple, with a double bed and a single bed – always arranged in a way that doesn’t obstruct the space in the room. The rooms are all en-suite with bathrooms, all with showers, and two also with free standing bathtubs. The rooms are air conditioned.
The house is built on 1000 sqm, with 3 floors connected by stairs and an elevator, including a basement floor – featuring a heated swimming pool, and a games room with ping pong and football tables.
On the ground floor there is a fully equipped quality kitchen to make any chef happy – with a kitchen island and bar stools to keep the cooks company. A dining table will seat a full compliment of 21 guests, and diner style adjacent room can casually seat 20 guests, with a bar and two tables. A few stairs below this level is a living room, with comfortable sofas, a television, and a billiards table. A second larger living room features a super large screen television, sofas, and an office setup. This living room connects to a lovely games room for toddlers.
The gardens are set on 2000 sqm, with an 18 meter long swimming pool, a petanque field, lawns that can be set up as a football field (portable goals and a football are available), a wooden playground, a barbeque operated with both gas and charcoal, two pergolas with outdoor furniture which overlook the fenced pool, and finally ample parking with 2 charging stations for electric vehicles – a very impressive checklist. All this with views to the massifs of Cadirets and Gavarres, with the Pyrenees visible in the distance.
When we first saw the property, we discussed how the grounds could benefit from some shade. Seeing the work that has been done since, the landscaping and all the design put into the house, deserves a standing ovation.
