Set in the privacy of fourteen acres of gardens, with enough fruit trees to supply a shop, and a horse paddock, this lovely Andalucian cortijo was beautifully restored while maintaining all of its original character.
Facing west in a valley enjoying views of the Grazalema National Park, the house has a seating area under a shady colonnade on one side, and a private courtyard – cortijo – with trees and fountains, on the other.
The pool area, with a shower, bar and dining facilities, is a short walk from the house.
La Arcilla sleeps up to twelve people, in 6 en-suite bedrooms. Ronda is ten minutes away, while Jerez, Sevilla and Malaga are all roughly one and a half hours drive.
Traditionally built with thick walls, the house keeps cool in the summer and warm in the winter – each bedroom has fans for the summer nights, and in winter nights enjoy the log fires and underfloor heating – a cozy home to return to after a hike.
