In a rural area a 30 minutes drive from Porto, nestled between the owner’s fields – when we were there last May they were busy picking blueberries less than 100 meters from the house.
The house is extremely spacious, with living rooms and lounges to spare, has a gorgeous ancient kitchen, and three possible dining areas – in the kitchen itself, in the main dining room, and outside in the garden – all with tables to fit a large group.
The house sits elevated from the neighboring town, which gives it a lovely view from the gardens and the swimming pool area. It is surrounded by narrow channels of water, eventually flowing out of a baroque stone fountain. Our favorite feature though is the water pressure – be ready to be blown away.
The North of Portugal is full of attractions, countless ancient cities, the country’s most important national park, and 3 distinct wine region – all accessible from the house.
