Ronda, our favorite holiday destination in Andalucia, is home to some of the region’s most famous white villages, the lovely historic town of Ronda, and it is also the greenest part of Southern Spain, enjoying the most rainfall in the region. Gorgeous landscapes range from the monumental Tajo cliffs and Moorish built “Roman bridge” at Ronda town, to the Sierra de Grazalema natural park, and the snowy winter peaks of the Sierra de las Nieves.
The house is decorated with art from the owner’s private collection, reflecting the same exquisite taste seen in the design of the house and it’s furnishings.
There is no shortage of sitting areas outside – remember Ronda is a place to enjoy the weather, as it’s always a little more temperate than the surrounding region of Andalucia. Fireplaces in all the right places – including many of the bedrooms, and an engine styled furnace in the living room, make it an ideal home to be cozy also in the colder months.
As it’s affiliated with a local hotel, many extra services are available on request, including meals which can be extended to full board. Guests can expect sumptuous meals prepared with seasonal fresh produce from the hotel’s small farm.
While not a beach destination, the Costa del Sol is only one hour away by car – though we recommend to drive a little further (ask us where).
Definitely one of our favorite houses, in a region we can never get enough of.
